Four scholarships in the amount of $1500 each awarded to youth in our communities who are enrolled in post-secondary education
Over the last week we were able to award our 2021 TCC Scholarships to 4 very deserving winners [physically distanced, of course]. Each candidate is awarded $1500 towards their future education costs. Every year we look forward to announcing our Scholarship Program, thank you to everyone who submitted this year. Please take a moment to learn a little bit more about this years recipients below. Dara Meades
Hometown: Bayfield, ON
Educational Institution: University of Guelph
Program: Sociology & Psychology
Future Goals & Career Aspirations: After finishing her undergrad, Dara aims to complete her Masters in Social Work and become a Social Worker in the hospitals.
Bobby McLachlan
Hometown: Seaforth, ON
Educational Institution: Wilfred Laurier University
Program: Honour Bachelor of Kinesiology
Future Goals & Career Aspirations: Bobby hopes to finish his education and enter the Physiotherapy field specializing in Athletic Therapy
Kyle Dunn
Hometown: Bayfield, ON
Educational Institution: Conestoga College
Program: Manufacturing Engineering Technology [MET] Welding & Robotics
Future Goals & Career Aspirations: Kyle is in the second year of obtaining a MET advanced diploma in welding and robotics. This program is providing him theory and hands-on training in welding and robotics. In year three of four, Kyle plans to apply his knowledge through the co-op stream. This course is providing him with a broader knowledge troubleshooting automated and robotic welding systems. Kyle’s goal is to get his ticket in the welding trade and gain some more front line experience operating welding systems. After that, he plans to further his studies by obtaining a Welding Inspection Certification CSA W178.2.

Educational Institution: The Michener Institute of Education at UHN
Program: Genetics Technology
Future Goals & Career Aspirations: Jasmine would like to work as a Clinical Genetics Medical Laboratory Technologist specializing in either molecular genetics or cytogenetics as soon as she graduates from school.
