Board of Director Candidates

CENTRAL/NORTH HURON/MORRIS-TURNBERRY

My name is Paul Middegaal, a lifelong Huron County resident and have served on the TCC board for 3 years now. I have been married for 38 years with two grown daughters. In 2017 I retired from Hydro One after 35 years as a regional line maintainer. I have also been cash crop farming since my early teens. During my career with Hydro One, I sat on numerous committees and was president/chair of the local snowmobile club for many years. These experiences, coupled with my experience so far on the TCC Board have built my excitement and willingness to continue my time as director. *with no other applications, this position has been acclaimed.

BLUEWATER

It is hard to believe that six years on the TCC board have gone by so fast. In those years, I have gained valuable insights into the ever-changing, fast-paced telecommunications industry, which I believe is a significant asset in continuing to serve as a Director with TCC. Additionally, as the owner of an agricultural business, I understand how important strong, reliable telecommunication services are to the rural/agricultural community. As many of you are aware, connectivity has become increasingly essential in all of our day-to-day lives, I firmly believe that everyone has the right to strong, reliable, and affordable internet access and will continue to stand up for that. I am very much looking forward to another three years, and your support for re-election would be greatly appreciated.

BLUEWATER

I arrived in Bayfield in 2008 after spending the first half of my life in Ottawa. I am an active volunteer in the community, spent 2 years on the Board of Directors of the Bayfield Ratepayers Association and have spent the last 8 years in various roles on the Board of Directors of the Bayfield Town Hall Heritage Society (including Treasurer). I have also produced and directed events (specifically the Town Hall cabaret) to assist in funding the ongoing maintenance and support of the Bayfield Town Hall and, for the first time last year, coordinated the Christmas in Bayfield parade. I have over 35 years of experience in Information Technology in various positions including satellite control and data management systems, network architecture/instructor/courseware developer, program management, capture management (for large proposals between $1M and $250M) and am currently responsible for creation and delivery of all Canadian Federal government proposals. It is my belief that my experience in information technology and my commitment and engagement to the community fits well with the TCC values, experience and overall needs of the Board of Directors.
